Amy Blizzard, Soprano Coloratura

American coloratura soprano Amy Blizzard has performed many Mozart roles including Despina in Cosi fan Tutte, both the Queen of the Night and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, and Mme. Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor. Other roles include Lady with the Handmirror in Argento's Postcard from Morocco, both Gretel and the Dewfairy in Hansel and Gretel, and Casilda in The Gondoliers.
She has performed in opera theatres in Connecticut, Texas, and New York, and has been heard in recital throughout the United States and Germany. Ms. Blizzard is a recent Metropolitan Opera Council District winner, Vera Scammon Opera Competition award winner, and Dallas Opera Guild award winner.
She received her Master of Music from the renowned Eastman School of Music and attended the Goethe Institute in Boppard, Germany. Ms. Blizzard was a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas, where she finished her doctoral work last spring.
This is Amy Blizzard's second year with Lyrique en Mer. She will be Papagena in The Magic Flute and Frasquita in Carmen.
