Lyubov Petrova , Soprano
Born in Russia, Ms. Petrova was a participant in the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2001 as Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos led to more then 50 performances there, as Norina/Don Pasquale, Pamina/Magic Flute, Nanetta/Falstaff, Sophie/Der Rosenkavalier, Sophie/Werther and Adele/Die Fledermaus, among others. Ms. Petrova is the Queen of the Night in the new film of The Magic Flute directed by Kenneth Branagh and conducted by James Conlon, which will be released worldwide in 2007. Ms. Petrova had performed with Paris Opera Bastille(Zerbinetta), Glyndebourne Festival(Adele/Die Fledermaus and Louisa/Betrothal by Prokofiev), Spoleto USA Festival (Lakme), Washington Opera (Lucia di Lammermoor), Los Angeles Opera (Zerbinetta), Teatro Massimo in Palermo (Manon), Teatro Real in Madrid (Zerbinetta), and in Pittsburgh and Atlanta (Juliet/Romeo et Juliet). She makes her debut with Lyrique en Mer this summer with her first performances (prise de role) of Violetta.
