Malinda Haslett has been singled out by Opera News as an "unalloyed delight." Her recent appearances as Oscar in Atlanta Opera's Un ballo in Maschera, as Nannetta in Sarasota Opera's Falstaff, and the title role in Lyric Opera of Cleveland's La fille du Régiment have earned resounding praise.
Recently she returned from a successful debut with the Fort Worth Opera as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, followed by a debut with Augusta Opera as Adina in L'Elisir d'amore and a debut with San Diego Opera as Frasquita in Carmen. She also made her debut with Syracuse Opera for which she was named Artist of the Year for her performances as Pamina in The Magic Flute.
Other operatic performances of note include Norina in Don Pasquale, Leïla in Les pêcheurs des perles, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Musetta in La Bohème and Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos. Ms. Haslett has been under the direction of such notable conductors and directors as Sandra Bernhard, Richard Bradshaw or Leon Botstein.
Ms. Haslett's European debut came under the auspices of the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship to Italy where she presented a solo recital for the President, Luigi Scalfaro. She subsequently, won the prestigious Concorso Internazionale di Tito Schipa, and the Concorso Internazionale di Roma.
This is Malinda Haslett's firs year with with Lyrique en Mer, where she will be Pamina in The Magic Flute.
